Working closely with the CEO of the Faculty Practice Plan and HU/HUH leaders to manage the capture of community surgeon surgical volumes from Providence Hospital. Organizes, executes and finalizes projects according to strict deadlines including acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of Quality and Safety leaders throughout the Howard University Health system. Defines project objectives and oversees quality control throughout the project life cycle.
  • Defines project success criteria and disseminates them to involved parties throughout project life cycle. Sets and continually manages project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Determines the frequency and content of status reports, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas.
  • Develops and contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards.
  • Develops best practices and tools for project management and execution.
  • Develops full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
  • Directs and manages project development from beginning to end.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with FPP and HUH Team members in a timely and clear fashion. Acts as liaison with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Participates in FPP/HUH teams and committees as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools, develops and delivers progress reports, tracks project milestones and deliverables.
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans.

  • Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree required. Clinical healthcare related field preferred.
  • Experience
5 years’ work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • License/Certification/Registration
Project Management Certification Preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills. Must have computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Facilitation of sizeable groups of leaders regarding: consensus development and best practices. Documentation skills including collaboration on report metrics, strong skills in relationship management in both leadership and staff environments.
